I feel he is making a very ill-guided stab at credibility here.ДЄnyway, suffice to say, I still don't like it. The Covid song, the shootings song, the veterans song. It sounds like a five year old came up with some of these lyrics.ДЇor ****s sake! (And doesn't he remember he got his vaccination from a phonograph needle!)

The lyrics and delivery on 2020 just make me cringe - he obviously is in a position to do what he wants but he really should stay away from trying to be current. JBJ has always come up with cheesy lyrics but seemed to carry it off on the early stuff with sheer energy and youthful exuberance. How about keyboard intro (its doesn't have to be Let it Rock) or an acoustic guitar interlude, maybe a song over 6 minutes or under 3? I honest ly feel they are just pumping these songs out using a Bon Jovi Song Generating Algorithm.

A lot of the same tempos and songs all the same length - by the end of the album they all blur into one for me. I mentioned the formulaic songwriting earlier and, again, I feel that all the songs kinda sound the same with very little variation. It's a very poppy production rather than a rock band sound, drums sound almost programmed and everything is crushed to death. My listen also confirmed to me that the production on BJ albums has been dreadful since they started using John Shanks - can't be bothered to look it up but probably since have a Nice Day. I don't subscribe to the opinion that things don't work because Sambora isn't there but I don't know why David Bryan or the others are not used in a more creative way anymore. To be fair this has been happening for a while and the band seem to have been losing any identity or 'signature sound' for 15/20 years but this really should have been a JBJ solo album in my opinion. Every song seems like it just has a bland backing on it for Jon to sing his 'words of wisdom' over the top of. You could replace everyone in the band with session musicians and it would be the same. The first thing I noticed is that, to me, it just doesn't sounds like there is a band called Bon Jovi on it.
